- Invented in 1964, but not released until 1981.
- Essentially a record that played video.
- Video quality on par with VHS, but the players were lower cost due to less complicated machinery.
- Discs could only be played a finite number of times due to the disc physically wearing out.
- Discontinued in 1986.
